Kodimelt TPS
Ködimelt TPS is known as the ultimate
warm-edge spacer. It is a warm-applied thermoplastic spacer (TPS) with integrated desiccant.
It supercedes conventional systems comprising of a spacer profile, primary seal
and molecular sieve fill. It makes IG production easier and economical.
Ködimelt TPS not only provides production advantages, but also improvements
for the end user in terms of its “warm-edge” technology. This technology provides
for higher temperature at the edge, a better U-value and less condensation…all
of which are important considerations to the end-user.
Ködimelt TPS is gunned through a Bystronic/Lenhardt
TPS robotic applicator. The secondary seal recommended for TPS applications is
GD-116 polysulphide and GD-920. Ködimelt TPS provides production and
consumer benefits related to its warm-edge technology. Other advantages include:
- Improved visual appearance of IG unit.
- Excellent adhesion to glass.
- Extremely low water vapor and gas permeability.
- Dimensionally stable without the need for a metal (heat conducting) stabilizing element.
- Compatible with the manufacture of laminated cast resin panes where safetyand sound absorption properties are needed.
- Applies to virtually any geometrical shape for irregular or custom shaped windows
Ködimelt TPS is the ultimate warm-edge spacer as it provides an all
around seal in regular and unusual geometrical shapes, it’s perfect for IG units
with laminated glass, and it makes triple-glazed units with variable distances
between the panes possible. What other sealant offers so much flexibility?
