High Solids PV Installation Primer |
|
|
|
HelioPrime™ PVP 100 is a high solids content, translucent polymer-based adhesive primer. It is used to prepare single-ply EPDM or TPO roofing membranes for the highest adhesion of pre-taped PV assemblies, cover tapes and lap sealant. This will result in the highest quality and most demanding installations. HelioPrime™ PVP 100 is also an excellent choice for priming metal surfaces.

-
Thoroughly stir prior to use and re-stir every 15–20 minutes during use.
- Do not dilute HelioPrime™ PVP 100 with any liquids.
- Surfaces should be dry and clean before applying HelioPrime™ PVP 100. EPDM and TPO surfaces should be cleaned with a suitable solvent such as mineral spirits or VM&P naphtha prior to priming.
- When the surfaces are dry, apply HelioPrime™ PVP 100 with a brush, rag, or 3M Scotch-Brite™ pad fully saturated with primer. The surface should appear wet during application. Apply primer to a wider area then the actual bonding area to insure complete coverage. If using a Scotch-Brite™ pad, be sure that it is free of excessive dust from EPDM membranes. Replace pads often.
- Allow primer to dry completely (usually less than 10 minutes) before applying adhesive backed PV assembly. Drying conditions will vary depending on ambient air conditions.
